It’s been a while since I have shared my travel posts with my readers.
I am beginning year 2019 with my post on Vaishno Devi that I visited a week ago. I have been travelling Vaishno Devi for the last 7 years and it has been a very satisfying journey. This year’s journey is something most memorable. I travel with my two cousins to the spiritual place that all Hindus hold in the greatest respect.
We started our journey from Delhi to Katra via bus. December was one of the coldest month of the year and it was quite an experience to travel in such a weather. A visit to Vaishno Devi and always been very satisfying and prospective for me. This is why I have been visiting this place for the last seven years. In this post I am going to share this year’s experience with all of you.
Starting of my journey
We boarded the bus from Kashmiri Gate bus terminal in Delhi to Katra. The person he was exhausting especially because of freezing winter. From Katra we boarded the train. I want you to know that government has started railway services from Katra to Vaishno Devi. You will enjoy the journey as you will see the natural beauty of the place.
It took us around 12 hours to reach Vaishno Devi. We started our journey early in the morning from Banganga checkpoint. The crowd was equally enthusiast as we were even when the temperature was freezing cold. It took us around 4 to 5 hours to reach the temple.
On the way to the temple we visited Charanpaduka, Ardhakumari and Hathi Matha. Here are some of the pictures of our journey:
We reached the temple around 5 PM for darshan. Even though it took a few hours to complete our journey after the darshan we experience such peace and relaxation of mind that we have never experienced before. Even though I have visited place every year since passed seven years I always feel a tremendous joy every time.
What to expect in winters
if you are visiting Vaishno Devi for the first time in winters you need to keep a few things in mind. Take your warm clothes and needed inventory for the journey. Many people try to carry their luggage along with them during the journey to the temple. This is not advised as it can get really tiring and tedious. There are room available is as soon as you reach Katra. You can keep your luggage there and start journey.
We can assure you it is going to be one of the best experience of a life to visit Vaishno Devi. I have made it our goal to visit the temple every year.
If you visited Vaishno Devi and experience the beauty of Himalayas, do share your experience with us in the comments below. And don’t forget to share pictures.
Jai Maa Vaishno Devi!
I happy journey to you all.
